Duwardoli (Reverie) is being prepared for a focused international festival and market journey centred on auteur cinema, independent filmmaking and emerging voices from South Asia.
The film has been selected for the Film Bazaar Viewing Room 2026, where it will be presented to industry professionals, festival representatives, producers, sales agents and potential international partners.
This marks an important stage in the film's journey as it moves from production into its international festival and market phase.
FESTIVAL STRATEGY
Rather than pursuing a broad festival circuit, the strategy is to identify festivals where the film's intimate storytelling, psychological themes and distinctive setting can find the right audience.
The initial target includes major international festivals and established platforms across Europe and Asia, alongside leading Indian festivals and programmes, subject to premiere status and individual festival requirements.
We are looking for specialist programmes focused on independent cinema, first and second features and contemporary Asian filmmaking.
We are seeking relationships with:
Festival programmers and curators
For strategic festival positioning and introductions.
International sales agents and distributors
For the film's post-festival international life across theatrical, curated and digital platforms.
Post-production funds and laboratories
For completing the remaining VFX, sound, music, colour grading and mastering.
International producers and institutions
For partnerships that can support the film's festival, distribution and wider international journey.
The film will be positioned internationally through its story, filmmaker and distinctive origin, rather than conventional commercial genre marketing.
The campaign will build around:
Film Bazaar Viewing Room 2026
International festival screenings
Festival and industry markets
International film press and publications
Director and cast conversations
Trailer and selected excerpts
Curated social media and digital campaigns
Festival reviews and interviews
International sales and distribution networks
The film will also be presented as the second feature by National Award-winning filmmaker Deep Choudhury, following Alifa, creating a clear connection between the filmmaker's established work and his return to feature cinema after a decade.
Duwardoli (Reverie) is intended for audiences and platforms interested in independent auteur cinema, intimate human drama, psychological narratives and contemporary Asian filmmaking.
While Assam is central to the film's identity and setting, its international positioning will focus on the human relationships and emotional conflicts at its core.
With the film moving towards completion and its upcoming Film Bazaar Viewing Room 2026 presentation, we are looking to establish the right international relationships before entering the festival circuit.
We welcome conversations with festival programmers, sales agents, distributors, post-production funds, producers and international cultural institutions interested in the film.
